I got Amora yesterday, and I have to say I love her.

But I can't understand why they come without stands... and I don't mean to jump on the complaint bandwagon just for the sake of it. The doll is SO detailed and SO beautiful. They put so much effort into mixing hair colors. They robbed us of the double elbow articulation, but I think she's the best articulated doll (better than Barbie MTM because of her proportions) I've ever had. The inset eyes, the sparkly makeup, the detail on her legs... I don't find her clothes to be special, just ANOTHER tube skirt (so cheap and easy to make), but the sleeves have real lace and that's nice.

YET with all these details, how can you design such a product and not think about consumers wanting to display it?!

I'm not going to fall for the "you are not the target demographic" double standard. At this point we all know they target adult collectors too.

They got rid of the double elbow articulation, the dolls don't have earrings, and they have few accessories (Akiko doesn't even have cat ears! I doubt the original designer didn't think about that). They didn,t have to cut on stands too. My Amora doesn't need a box of chocolates or sunglasses if she is going to lie flat on the floor.

I'm so angry!

My first MM and no stand...
