Two tone regrets?

I’ve got a 2021 two-tone Submariner (black dial) and lately I’ve been seriously thinking about trading it for an all-steel model.

When I originally bought the two-tone, I liked the idea that it could kind of do everything — casual, business, suit, tux, whatever. I figured if I was only going to own one really nice watch, the two-tone Sub was a pretty versatile choice.

Fast forward a few years and I honestly don’t wear it as much as I thought I would. I still love the watch, but the gold just feels a little too flashy for me sometimes. There are definitely situations where I’ll leave it at home because I don’t really want the attention.

I’m not in a position where I’m going to have a whole collection of Rolexes, so I’m starting to think an all-steel Sub might actually make more sense as my one-watch option.

Anyone here make the switch from two-tone to steel? Did you end up wearing the steel one more, or did you regret getting rid of the two-tone?

I’m torn because the two-tone definitely has more personality, but I feel like steel would fit my actual day-to-day life better.
