So the new transmog system just dropped and the discourse around it has been crazy to say the least. So I am here to explain it for those who havent used it themselves yet and provide a bit of insight to why its good for everyone from F2P to the giga whales.

There are five total sections you can roll for cosmetics. Each section rolls independently. You need to roll a specific amount of times to unlock the next section/body part of the outfit. The process goes like this:

1. You use either Glimmering Driftshadow(Glimmer/F2P currency) or Radiant Dreamshadow(Cash/Premium currency) to roll each section. There is a discount when buying Glimmering Driftshadow from the shop, 1800 vs 2000 glimmer for a "10 pull" vs singles.

2. Glimmering Driftshadow can only reroll the first THREE sections. You CANNOT lock items when using Glimmering Driftshadow.

3. I have not confirmed this but allegedly its $180 worth of Radiant Dreamshadow to unlock Sparkling. (This is where the whales get to play). If you lock a slot it doubles the cost of rerolling the remaining slots. So 2x Dreamshadow for 1, 4x Dreamshadow for 2, but using more increases the bonus chance and speeds up growth. (This is way too much for me as you can tell I didnt unlock the final two slots)

Now to the GOOD part for F2P and Low spenders.

The most visually changing aspects of the look is tied to the first three parts. The game actually remembers your pulls and will save ten of the BEST RARITY in a log! So you can use the F2P Driftshadow and roll and even if you get something good you can roll past it trying to get better without worrying about losing it.

Once you found a combination you like you can save that combination as a preset. You get 3 presets so you dont have to worry about erasing one if you get a better one. If you do save a preset it does erase the log so make sure its the best one/one you want before locking it in and continuing.

Tons of people are posting in discord of hitting 2x legendary or 1x legendary and 2x Epic with great looks with just their F2P glimmer. I feel like this is the best system you could have that bridges the gap between the different types of players and monetization. It gives the whales something to chase and supports the game while giving F2P/Low spenders a lot of value for their free in game currency since most of the visual changes arent locked to the premium currency.

A Rundown of the Transmog system and why its actually GOOD for F2P and Low spenders.
