I was worried about the names when we first launched

promotion

When we started in 2022, I was so worried about the bike names because my fear was, what if someone asks the meaning of the model names? Being a new brand, I didn't want to embarrass myself.

I was very clear. I did not want to use random funky names like 'Thunder', 'Speedster', 'Racer', but have some meaning behind them so that I can explain when someone asks.

The reason was, we don't have a bicycle background. I am the first one in my family to start a bicycle company. I started from absolute zero. In fact, I am also the first in my family to build something and sell it. I am still learning.

So I was prepared to take criticism by any means (which we should expect as a new company with no bicycle background), but I was also prepared to answer.

We launched Battalion with three bikes.

AV1

R25

K2

AV1 is basically the first two letters of my mother's name, and 1 basically means the 1st MTB bike (Excuse me, Zilork, it was called MTB, not now).

R25 is basically the first letter of my younger brother and his birth date, which is 25 (25th September, today).

K2 is basically the first letter of my name and the 2nd MTB. Also, Mount K2.

I did it only for two things. To explain when someone asks, and to have some meaning and sentiment behind them as a new company.

As I feared, almost everybody asked me the meaning of the names when we launched. And I was excited to explain it.

Just wanted to share this story with you all.
