Money or passion?
At work I met this lovely woman, who told me her work was looking for a new receptionist and it would pay $21/hr, a good like...nearly $4 more than I make right now, and a lot more hours, she personally recommended me to her boss and gave me a recommendation but I'm...still not sure about it
I don't think I'd get the job at all to be honest, because I don't have a whole lot of experience, but if her recommendation carries a lot of weight than I might have a chance, and it seems it DOES have some weight as she forwarded it to her boss, and I got an interview availability notification like only the next day.
That being said...I don't know if I have the heart to quit my current stylist job...I LOVE working as a bridal stylist, I love my clients, I love the store, I find genuine joy in helping people feel good on what should be one of the best days of their lives!
I just don't know if I could have both....My friends suggested if I get the official offer from the receptionist job and it's a done deal, I could maybe use that offer to leverage a raise from my current stylist job, but I've only been working as a stylist for maybe a month (almost 2) now so I doubt they'd go for it.
If you had to choose between a career, you genuinely loved, or a career that would make you comfortable financially. What would you choose?
