Roy Kent shouldn't be a main character in S4
I know this might sound crazy, but read me out.
The entire Roy-Keeley plotline has been killing the show for me.
In my opinion, it takes up too much screen time, it's straight-up boring, and it's a disservice to the show and to the characters themselves. Both have devolved significantly. This season is supposed to be about the women's team! Yet somehow, we are stuck with Roy and Keeley eating up all the spotlight. Keeley could be adding so much to the team's plot, but nope, her entire existence is reduced to orbiting Roy, and that just pisses me off.
Roy is a great character, don't get me wrong. But now? He is being forced into the plot in very inorganic ways that distract attention from other characters, such as the players, Alice, Rebecca, and even freaking Ted Lasso. This makes the whole watching experience very boring. Roy really gets in the way of what they could be doing with the plot, A LOT.
So, in my opinion, Roy shouldn't be a main character this season. If anything, he should just make the occasional appearance here and there. Besides, all we have of him is his Keeley drama.
Spoiler: >!If they try to justify this by making him the mysterious buyer, fine, I would be interested in seeing that evolve (even though it's pretty unrealistic for a player to buy the club, even if he is a legend). But even with that, they have wasted precious screen time that could have been used on other characters that I would love to learn more about.!<
