Legal advice regarding divorce and GBV case between father and mother?

I hope you guys are well.

My stay at home mother has been abused for a long time, physically, financially, etc. My mother now is receiving death threats and my father said he will kick her out of the home (he is not currently at home right now for a week or so). He has also threatened taking the kids out of school etc..

My mother is quite focused on a divorce but she is very scared. For example, even though the house has her name on it (title deed), she still feels unsafe because she didnt buy the house. When he comes back, he will most likely hit her which my mother is usually okay with, but this time she doesn't want to be hit. She is wondering what options she has.

My advice was for her to take the divorce. However, because she is dependent, stay at home wife, she doesn't really have that much money for a lawyer. She doesn't know if he has the right to kick her out, becuase her name is on he title deed. She also owns other things on her name.

What should she do, like protection order?
