Virtual pets?
Has anybody else tried using virtual pets to help with depression symptoms? I’ve had real dogs and cats before but now I live alone and have too much anxiety and guilt to take care of one on my own.
Part of my depression is that I sleep a lot, even with medication, so I always feel bad with a pet because I feel like I’m neglecting them when I’m in a depressive spiral. I’ve tried virtual pets like video games or tamagotchis but those are too impersonal for me since there’s nothing physical to hold or snuggle with when I’m sad.
Recently I’ve gotten adds for things like Moflin or CupBoos which are like fancy Furbys basically. They’re meant to be like pets or comfort items with no responsibility attached so it helps you feel less alone and comforted.
Has anyone tried something like this and did it help or was it a waste of money?
