To claim a distant shore.
A ballad truly hypnotic,
Or an avaricious prospect, utterly fanatic.
A song of forfeiture, never relinquishing,
Perhaps an aural fragment could be worth treasuring?
Akin to anchoring a lyre with thy string,
A prerogative bow only thou shall string.
A grail though so consequential yet so significant,
Thou defy the deity, skirmish a holy infant, and yet seek thy kingdom, Ithaca, the radiant.
I'm a 14 year old poet and have been writing for 2 years now. I recently penned down this poem after reading some of The Odyssey by Homer, and watching the movie adaptation by Christopher Nolan.
This is also one of the poems I submitted for The Foyle Young Poets Of The Year award.
Kindly rate my poem /10 and also help me improve.
Also how are my chances at winning!?
Looking forward to reading what you all have to say :)
