Hernia surgery in a few days-Advice needed

Going in for bilateral inguinal surgery. Looking for advice and tips to get through this My bedroom is downstairs, so I don't know if I will make it down there. Have a cough so I don't know how that will play out. I should have a helper the first few days. Any advice will be helpful. Anyone with a time line or list of things to do or things to have handy would be helpful. Thanks!
