Is it ok to make a character that’s an amalgam of existing characters?

Discussion

Let me preface this by saying that I know technically anything goes in fan fiction, but what I mainly just wanted to see if it’s a controversial thing or something people might be put off by, yknow?

For context, I’m writing a marvel fic that takes place in an alternate timeline of mine. For those who are marvel nuts like myself, this story is going to focus on Kurt Wagner/Nightcrawler and it deals with “darker” lore and also lore that hasn’t really been explored too much in the marvel universe (namely the holy war between the Cheyarafim and Neyaphem), and he meets the other main characters Jubilee, Wanda Maximoff (who in this universe is a mutant like her original portrayal), and finally Blade/Wolverine.

But I couldn’t decide who I should add.

On one hand Wolverine would make the most sense since he’s also a mutant, has established relationships in other media with two other characters in the cast already (jubilee and Kurt himself), and since I’m planning on putting Kurt in a relationship with Wolverine/Blade, Wolverine would also naturally make the most sense again, because Kurt and Wolverine are a popular ship already (the most popular of Kurt ships I believe).

Buttt, Blade also has more of that connection to the darker lore of marvel, he also is a swords master (I mean hello, BLADE) and I feel that would be a point of connection between him and Kurt. And he’s also just one of my favorite characters and I wanna be self indulgent and make a fic that has all 4 of my most beloved characters from marvel.

Sooo, would it be weird if I just created a mish mash of the two in a way that keeps the main defining qualities of both, since In marvel technically ANYTHING is possible and exists cuz of the multiverse?

Or should I just try and decide on going with one or the other?

Amy and all feedback will be greatly appreciated:)
