[Spoilers All] The Effects of Love

I asked one of my friends to read the first law and he said he didn’t really get it. At the time I couldn’t really explain my feelings for it since it had been a while since I’d listened to it. I’m nearing the end of my second read through and I remember exactly why I love this series. One thing I have noticed is the effect relationships have and people and how the right partner can effect a characters trajectory. For 1 there’s Logen and Ferro two people who manage to find some comfort with one another Ferro finds herself able to trust Logen while he feels he can understand her itch, violent, and abrasive personality. Together they could probably settle in somewhere and live a half decent life. But communication is a hard thing for the young and the old and something that could’ve been talked through and cleared up ends up splitting then setting them of vastly different paths.

Shivers and Monza are another couple that do end up bringing out the worse and best in one another. Monza tries to tell shivers how it is how unhappy and brutal life can be while shivers tries to look on the bright side. He ends up turning over to her side of thinking and she hates that. She hates seeing him an in a way hates seeing herself seeing what her brother Benna was really like to everyone else.

Leo, Orso, Savine, Rikka: shivers and Monza opened my eyes to this but I think these four really solidified my thoughts. Everyone is so close to what could’ve been their “ideal match” Orso and Savine love each other and say they’d be able to bring out the best but are unable to do to being related. Leo and Rikka could’ve formed quite the alliance in the north and do just get along well their both young and end up falling out but I think Rikka would’ve been good for him and probably wouldn’t have minded him being him expressing what he is.

Rikka and Stour. This is a bit of a strange one there’s no point in which they like each other or the thought is even really passed if the two marrying but politically it would’ve made some sort of since but due to bad blood the two are unable to meet on good terms to unite the north without blood.

There’s more I could talk about like Leo and Savine but I’m curious to hear others thoughts on my rambling
