Hey everyone,

Third Mind Reader is out of beta and now in Community Plugins, no more BRAT! I won't ramble too long about it here again, but I wanted to show you all the finished version and to thank everyone who tested it and sent bug reports, comments and encouragement over the last few months. It really helped in making the plugin better.

**What it is:** an opinionated EPUB and PDF reader for Obsidian. It's a tool to help you capture thoughts as you read, and answer questions without needing to break the reading flow. Books open as tabs like anything else in your vault, and every highlight is saved to a plain markdown note per book, linked back to the source and visible in graph view. No database, nothing to export.

**What it does:**

* A proper reader: two-page spread or single page, table of contents, in-book search, bookmarks and per-book position memory.
* Select any text and the Gloss toolbar appears: highlight and annotate, ask a model to explain it, dig deeper with citations, or talk it through. Everything goes in your notes, not in a chat window somewhere.
* The same annotation over PDFs, inside Obsidian's own viewer.
* A Library of every book and PDF in your vault, current reads on top.
* Works on desktop, tablet and phones, with a layout built for each.

**On AI:** it's off until you add a provider. Without one, the reader runs just as well in Lite mode: a plain highlight and nothing else. When it's on, it's local-first, so point it at Ollama or LM Studio and nothing leaves your machine. Cloud keys work too. No telemetry, AGPL-3.0.

**Try it!:** Obsidian → Community Plugins → search Third Mind Reader

Bug reports and weird EPUBs are very welcome. There's a feedback button in the plugin settings, or open an issue on GitHub. Thanks again for all the support along the way, I'm pretty proud of how this has turned out.

AI Use: the code is largely AI-generated. I did direct it: architecture, specs, review, and a lot of testing and fine tuning. There's a fuller account of how it was built in the README.
