NIPT done at 8 weeks

This is my first pregnancy so everything is new to me obviously. We had our first appointment on Wednesday which put me exactly 8 weeks. I asked our OBGYN about genetic testing and she said we could do it that day since I was 8 weeks. I agreed and she said it could take 1-2 weeks for the results to come back.

After looking it up after I see that most places say at least 9 weeks for the test. My concern is will I get results or will it be non conclusive. If I do get results will they be accurate? We will love this baby no matter what, we just wanted to be more prepared if anything does happen to be wrong. Same with gender and buying items for the baby. Also in everyone else’s experience how long did it take for you to get your results back?
