(Update) Turning my B3 into B4 HELP!
Good afternoon,
This is a follow up from my post yesterday: https://www.reddit.com/r/EDH/s/8zUOQtO4k1
I got a variety of feedback and weigh-ins on power level. Ultimately I’ve decided to make the step-up to bracket 4. I have never played or built bracket 4 (or 5) decks before, but as someone who doesn’t like confrontations, it was more important for me to have a deck that felt appropriate to others rather than riding the thin line and having some games where people blocked me and/or were very upset. Regardless if my deck is “technically” and bracket 3 or not, the social hassle was not allowing me to have fun with the deck.
So here we are! Time to commit to bracket 4. Please offer feedback on speed, land count, etc. I want to keep the core combo of Sedris, Void Maw, Altar, Palinchron. I am happy to run a lower to mid 4, just want to play my fun cards.
I am now putting Kefka at the helm, just as a more reliable draw and discard for bracket 4. I have no real intention or desire to build around his triggers (no harmonic prodigy). He’s really just there to let me play a reanimator deck with grixis and draw cards.
Other no-cut cards are: Scholar of the lost trove, Incarnation Technique, sneak attack, Agent of Treachery, Body Double, and Razaketh.
- Scholar: Let’s me throw a living death or incarnation in the bin with entomb or discard and immediately cast them with a sneak attack or reanimate.
- Incarnation technique: Awesome to fill bin and is often cheated with scholar. Good in a pinch as a 5 cost with ramp or hexing squelcher
- Sneak attack: Shenanigans
- Agent of treachery: gets around hard to deal with permanents. I can cycle Agent a lot to steal all of someone’s lands and permanents if I can with mill or damage (give themselves hexproof)
- Body Double: Really flexible combo card.
- Razaketh: Combo card tutor
Thanks all!
