Disabled brother got his wisdom teeth pulled and now it’s infected— what to do

question

Context— My brother (M18) is severely disabled to the point he cannot make himself food and needs assistance bathing and brushing his teeth. He’s nonverbal and taller than me and my mom. I’m his twin sister, but I’m also his caretaker when my parents need to work. How he responds to pain or fear is aggression, he always regrets it afterwards. But he’s doesn‘t know his own strength.

We had to go to the hospital to get his wisdom teeth pulled, when he woke up in the car he started pulling at his lip— my mom tried to stop him and help but he ended up hitting her and he probably pulled his lip. I iced his lip and cheeks when he got home and tried to make him rest. Two days later he’s refusing to take any medicine, food or water. His lip is so swollen and so are his cheeks. He won’t even let us take a look in his mouth. But we’re pretty sure it’s already infected.

We’re trying to minimize the hospital trauma and since we live in the US, an ambulance is more expensive. He’s in pain and scared and I don’t know how to help him Without him hurting one of us— or worse, a hospital staff member.

please does anyone know how to help or what we should do? Thank you reading.
