If your French emergency vocab comes from France-based material, the emergency number itself won't match once you're in Québec

Small thing that's easy to overlook when you're focused on grammar and vocab: France uses 15 (SAMU) for medical emergencies, but Québec uses 911, same as English Canada. If you've been studying with French-French resources and picked up the reflex to say "appelez le 15," that instinct is actually wrong once you're here. Worth unlearning early rather than in an actual emergency.

New episode of my podcast this week is set in a hospital ER (chest pain triage, structured assessment, an aside on exactly this number difference). Free PDF transcript with the dialogue and vocab in the description if it's useful for TEF/TCF prep: https://medicalvoices.health/fr/episodes/18
