Key Fob

I have a 2016 Honda Civic and my mother was using it, and one day she decided to change the key fob battery and now it’s blinks red indicating it’s working but not sending any signal to the car to unlock so I have to manually unlock it with the key and have the key fob near on button to turn on my car. The car locksmith wasn’t able to make me new copy.
