How to be a good online gumshoe and keep a pulse of schizo emerging communities?

I find things like looksmaxxing etc to be fascinating on an anthropological and sociological level and just curious to where people personally keep up to date with this stuff but BEFORE it hits the mainstream, when it's at its most nascent.

So how does a gumshoe keep their ear to the ground on things like that? Is Reddit too late for this stuff? Do I need a tiktok account with the algorithm of a Gen Alpha? I know this stuff can be frightening/demoralising but I think it's important to understand this stuff.
