Swades is such a RAGEBAIT movie

I hated that gita character.

The connection it was trying to make us feel towards india was not working on me. I love india but this was not it. I did feel bad for the people suffering through poverty. I understand that mohan had to understand the value of his own country... But LEAVING HIS NASA JOB FOR WHAT?! A VILLAGE?? FOR THAT GITA??

firstly, agar gita nahi chahti ki mohan ko charanpur ka rasta pata chale. She could have just said "mujhe nahi pata" Instead of giving wrong address. Mohan had to travel 100 more km because of her.

After that she told him to not take kaveriamma with him.. Ok understandable. She doesn't want to be alone.

But the way she was defending sarkaar pissed me off i am sorry. The only thing I agreed on was "hum bhi sarkaar system ka part hai aur hame bhi contribute karna chahiye". Baki " Sarkaar koshish kar rahi hai" Is so stupid. Koshish karne se desh nahi chalta.

Then the villagers looking down upon urban life and praising their culture. SRK explaining them how it's not nice to look down upon urban culture. Him feeling bad for poor.. He helped them make bulb ...And all that happened.

At the end when he was going back to America gita was like "itna sab hone ke baad bhi tum jana chahte ho" EXCUSE ME? BEHEN? do u expect him to leave his nasa job he studied HARD for?? And live in this Poverty??! With you? For what? Aur kaveriamma was clearly ok with living in village with gita. Mohan should have left and STAYED in America. He could come to the village occasionally once or twice a year IF HE'S SO CONNECTED.

At the end the scene of him washing his legs in river after kushti was so Ragebaiting. Him leaving that comfortable life and choosing to live there.. It was shown as flowers and sunshine... Gareebo ke liye bura lagna aur unke liye APNI COMFORTABLE LIFE chor ke Poverty mai jina is soo different. Kuch jaroorat nahi thi gita se shaadi karne ki.
