Cans still cold two hours on with the Coleman 4 can cooler camp chair

Camping Chairs

Park evenings for three weeks and one back garden birthday, all in the Coleman cooler camping chair, the one with the 4 can pocket built into the left arm, and no model number that I could find on the chair, the bag or the listing. It's near the top of Coleman's own folding range, which means it costs about double the mesh Broadband, sits level with a Kelty Lowdown and is still far under anything Helinox makes. Everything in the flat was researched to death before it was bought second hand, and this is the first chair I've paid full price for in seven years, so it had better earn it.

The cooler legit works. Four cans and a handful of ice, insulated pocket zipped shut, and the last one was still cold two hours later on a warm evening, and that's the entire pitch for paying double over a plain quad.

It's heavy though. Close to 10 pounds on the bathroom scale, and the bag is a fat tube that doesn't sit on a sholder so much as swing off it, which on a twenty minute walk to the park with a bag of food in the other hand gets old.

Sat through a three hour film in the park in it without the numb bum the mesh one gives me, because the seat and back are properly cushoned rather than the thin foam on the cheaper Coleman.

Seat height came out at roughly 18 inches on my tape, the seat is wide enough that my flatmate and I have both been comfortable, and it feels steadier under a big lad than the mesh quad, the steel frame is thicker gauge and the feet are bigger, though on soft ground it still sinks.

Two side pockets, one either side, take a phone and a book, and the cup holder is the usual mesh ring, which held a can and lost a bottle of wine, and yeah I found that out.

Same one pull collapse as every Coleman quad, but the insulated pocket needs emptying and drying first or it goes musty, which I learned after leaving two cans in it for a week. The whole chair got rained on at the birthday and the cushion took a full day to dry out, where the mesh one dries in an hour. The cushion takes a damp cloth, you can't hose it the way you can a mesh camping chair.

61,000 reviews at 4.7 and around 3,000 a month is a lot of people agreeing, and the warranty is whatever Coleman's standard one is, which I haven't looked up because camping chairs at this price don't get returned, they get given to a flatmate.

After a few summers, does the insulation in the arm pocket still hold or does the lining split and leak meltwater down the frame?
