Need advice on some landscape lights that likely have lightning damage.
Had a nearby lightning strike couple weeks ago that messed with a bunch of low voltage stuff in and around the house.. I'm guessing it is also the cause of the problem I'm having with my landscape lights at the moment too.
Some of the lights work, some don't. (They're also always on now, they used to just come on at night) I think they come from an AC transformer on the side of the house connected to a breaker in a sub-panel inside. Had an electrician check it out today.. He bypassed what i think is the first light in the circuit that wasn't on and a couple more came on that weren't on before. He then bypassed another light a little further down that wasn't on and the rest further down the circuit came on but the wires he was touching together this time were melting and the transformer/breaker didn't trip.
Anyone have any idea what it could be or what I could do myself to safely troubleshoot this?
(He initially came for something else that was more important so I told him to just focus on that for now and I'd look into the lights later on.. But I have no idea how long it would take him to troubleshoot the whole problem etc so was just wondering if I could maybe try some things myself first)
Cheers
