Asd diagnosis

Today my 18 month old son had his medical evaluation for autism and they ended up giving him a level 2 autism diagnosis. I am a bit shocked they diagnosed him this young and especially since he doesn’t have the stereotypical traits that kids with asd usually present. Has anyone had experiences where their child was diagnosed this young but they were misdiagnosed as they got older or they got a second opinion?
