Can an isolated VSD cause elevated NT?

We had elevated NT (4mm) at 13 weeks. Clear NIPT and Vistara. At 16 weeks NT was still elevated, MFM suspected issues with the heart. Cranium shape was also abnormal. Fetal echo at 17 weeks confirmed a moderate to large perimembranous VSD. Repeating echo at 21 weeks as there were two things they were unsure about. Waiting on results of amnio.

My understanding is that VSD’s are not hugely uncommon. I am wondering if anyone has had an elevated NT and ultimately the only cause was an isolated VSD? We are desperate for the amnio results and clinging to the possibility that these are isolated structural issues.
