Matte PPF/Ceramic/Tint - Questions and Nerves
Hey all. I’ve never put PPF, ceramic coating or tint on a vehicle before. I’m picking up my Launch Green R2 next week and am really interested in the idea of doing a Matte PPF on that color. Of course would cover that with a Ceramic top coat and thinking to do tint for UV/Heat on the side and windshield (not the roof as it has it already). My tint would be the lightest possible as I’m not actually a fan of dark tint on the front.
I live in southern california, park outside (sometimes under the carport sometimes not…we just don’t have a garage at our house), redwood trees in our yard can cause staining.
Given the cost, my lack of experience with any of it i’m getting cold feet.
For anyone who’s done these before. Is the Matte PPF hard to maintain? does the look hold up after 3 or 4 years? Would the ceramic be better by itself just to keep the redwoods from staining? I don’t drive a ton of miles…but do spend time out in joshua tree and the desert so on dirt roads at times.
Really just looking for honesty from folks with experience. I want to love my ride…but also don’t want to be stressing about the maintenance or appearance in a couple years.
Thanks so much!
