Can I skip impedance control for a 4-Layer PCB with DDR3L-1066 memory?
I am working on a credit-card sized SBC (which I will be open-sourcing once it's finished) based on the STM32MP135 MPU. The 4-Layer PCB contains a single DDR3L memory chip which will be operated at 533 MHz & will be close to the MPU.
This project on it's own is already very expensive for me & I'm saving up from my part time job to fund this project but I was wondering if I could save up some money on impedance control.
I'll be getting these boards manufactured from JLCPCB (and will be assembled by a friend) & For impedance control they're charging $33, which atleast as per my income is a significant amount.
The design requirements of my MPU state that I need impedance control within +-10% tolerance & I was wondering if can get away with just adjusting the traces to match impedance I need?
