38 | M | Arizona - Adult Friendship: Applications Open, Again
Friday. I've officially turned 38..
Why is this whole “make a friend on Reddit” thing more complicated than IKEA instructions? I’ve lost count of the conversations that started strong, faded, and disappeared into the Reddit abyss.
Adulting, so great. 😐
I’m 38. I'm gay and married (yes, to a man). I work in data analytics as a health informaticists. Also working on my masters, clearly one source of stress wasn’t enough. Life is good, but damn, my thirties have become so routine.
Work → Responsibilities → Homework → Sleep → Repeat
I miss real friendships. People you look forward to hearing from. Sending memes. Complaining about work. Talking travel, sharing true crime series / Podcasts, idiotic YouTube rabbit holes we've fallen into. I miss having good friends to celebrate wins and be there when life decides to be a tool.
You're someone who understands Relationship → Career → Responsibilities
Long-shot, but Arizona locals would be awesome! Grabbing a beer, hiking, or doing something low-key then seem realistic. But location isn't a dealbreaker. Good people are good people. Be genuine, put in effort. I’ll do the same. Maybe this attempt, again, will be the one that sticks.
Life happens outside of the internet. We don't need an obligation disguised as friendship
traveler / road trip explorer, paddle-boarder, amateur photographer / art museum fan, horror aficionado, breweries / wineries, HUGE foodie, theme park enthusiast, urban explorer / adventurer, and anything with a little adrenaline kick. If you’re reading this and saying "yeah, I could use a friend like this in my corner" say hi. ✌🏼
