[M4ApF] A Song of Ice and Fire

Character names, personalities, and backstories in the following prompts are placeholders. You can come up with your own names, personalities, and backstories.

The following prompt is a potential situation; what's gonna happen in the actual RP is something for us to discuss.

I know, are people still interested in the world of A Song of Ice and Fire (and its TV shows, Game of Thrones and House of the Dragon)? Yes, there are still some people interested in said world. Knowing the author will never finish the books only gives me a bigger desire to explore said world, but under my own lens, alongside my potential RP partner, obviously.

The king looked on at the fire. For hours, it had been the only source of light. The sky was dark: no stars, no moon, no light. What was the saying? “Dark wings, dark words.” He never quite understood that. Ravens were used for everything, and the worst news were the white ravens that heralded the arrival of winter, so how had that saying come to be?

He couldn't remember how long he'd been staring at the fire. He was sure it had been for quite a bit, more than what a maester or a drunkard would recommend, yet the king hadn't flinched. His gaze drifted towards the couch right next to his, where lay the symbol of his authority: a black iron crown, as black as the night outside, yet studded with rubies that seemed to drink in the light.

The king smirked. Fools worshipped silver, gold, or any ornament that looked fancy or weird. They thought that gave you authority, power. Fools didn't know what real power was like.

He tightened his grip on his sword, black but for a ruby that shone like its counterpart on his crown. The blade was sheathed, but he knew that, had he revealed the edge, it would have been all the same. If the crown merely dulled the light cast upon it, his blade outright rejected it. This was his symbol of power. The symbol of one willing to fight, take, and hold on to what they wanted.

Then came a rumbling from outside, which could have been mistaken for lonely, faraway thunder, but he knew better. Outside, in the courtyard, was real power. Not symbolic, nor man-sized, but power with which he could raze the world if he wished.

He smirked to himself and looked back at the fire. He swore that, with enough focus, he could start to see shapes and sounds coming from it.

Moans, swords, great shadows, tangled bodies, blood.

Then a small groan from behind broke his attention.

“Come back to bed, my love.” The sweet, lazy voice beckoned.

Slowly standing up, leaving his sword by the fireplace, its light illuminating his bare form, he turned around.

“My king, you mean.”

Because that was what he was above all else: a king.

“My king.” The voice corrected him, her tone chastened.

He saw her shuffling around the bed, and while it was mostly dark, what he saw made his blood rise. He approached her and her inviting form.

Then came a sudden knock on the door.

“What is it?!” he commanded, irked at the interruption.

The door opened a bit, allowing the shadowed form of one of his white-clad knights to appear. The man was sensible enough to keep his eyes outside the room.

“My king, a raven from the capital. It has news about the rebels. It needs your attention, the Lord Hand says.”

“... Very well, Ser. Get ready to ride, and order my saddle to be prepared. I shall arrive sooner by flight.”

“But, Your Grace, there is a storm incoming,” his bodyguard protested, as a couple of servants came in to help prepare the king.

The king was picking up his sword as the man argued. He simply shook his head from side to side, like a maester reproaching a student.

“As if a dragon had such lowly concerns, Ser. And I'm not speaking about myself.”

The rumbling from outside could be heard again, as if it had heard its master's words.

The previous prompt is an example of one of the following ideas. I feel there are lots of points in the setting where we can start. I will offer some potential starting points.

I want to clarify that we can either play with canon characters, OC characters, or a mix. I'm not a stickler for “that's not how it would have happened in the books.” How we play said characters, how they behave, how their stories unfold—it is OURS. This is OUR story (with all due respect to the author of the books from which this RP is based), and we are the owners of it and how its characters behave.

With that said, here are some drafts:

\* Aegon's Conquest or shortly afterwards: How will the Seven Kingdoms be conquered? With Fire & Blood? Alliances, treachery? Pacts made in the middle of the night, even amidst the sheets?

\* Maegor the Cruel or Maekar I: I like the idea of playing characters who canonically were infamous or unpopular and, while not exactly making them charismatic and loved by all, I think doing a twist and giving them a chance to show what they could have been capable of if they weren't so hated sounds like a lot of fun to me.

\* Queen Rhaenyra: Here, Rhaenyra and Daemon win the Dance. Still, the royal house is depleted, the realm torn apart, resentment everywhere. Will they be able to restore everything to its rightful place?

\* Targaryen restoration: Jon knows he's a Targaryen (or could be an OC Targaryen), and you will help me put him on the throne, restoring the three-headed dragon to its rightful place. Alternatively, it could be about Jon (or whoever takes his place in the story) now being the king and ruling the realms.

An AU where Rhaegar wins at the Trident is also a really fun start. Is Robert dead? Is Lyanna alive? Are Rhaenys and Aegon alive? Just one of them? Did Jaime stop Aerys, still tarnishing his reputation?

One idea in particular I have following this concept is Rhaegar winning at the Trident, though it's an even more brutal battle which is only decided by the fate of the battle commanders. Robert is killed or exiled, yet the Sack of King's Landing still happens. The Lannisters are in a strong position, but without Robert, it feels their changing sides was moot, so the rebellion ends in a pyrrhic victory for the Targaryens.

We move forward many years. The male lead for this plot would be Aegon or Jon. The Targaryens still rule, but it is a peace on the verge of an explosive rebellion like the one 20 years ago. Will we be able to avoid it? Or, if we aren't able to prevent it, will we be able to survive it?

Any ideas? Pretty much what the title says: if you have any suggestions about how we could go about it, you're more than welcome to bring them to the table for us to discuss.

See you soon, but remember: in the game of thrones, you win or you die.

As for me, I'm a switch; I play mostly as a dom, but with the right partner, I could play a sub. I'm looking for someone who is detailed; two or three detailed paragraphs shall suffice, though I won't stop you from writing more if that's what you want. I'm certainly able to deliver more than two paragraphs with the right partner. For that matter, I'm pretty sure I'll be able to deliver a lot of stuff for the right partner.

We can RP on Discord if that's good with you. Otherwise, Reddit DMs are good.
