Connection issues?

Hey all, just got a pair of Open Ultra buds from eBay and they will connect via Bluetooth and play audio back, but the Bose app cannot find them... And pressing-and-holding the button on the case isn't putting the headphones into pairing mode. Anyone else experience this issue when setting them up?

I'd really like to change the eq via the Bose app
