Do 4090 FE (Founder's Edition) cards require repaste?

Question

I've had a 4090 FE since launch and remember it running very quiet and cool through everything I threw at it. It's been ~4 years now and I'm wondering if the card needs a repaste?

From what I've seen online, these cards come with Phase Change Material (PCM) from factory which is apparently a long term thermal interface designed to last the lifetime of the product. Even Google Gemini seems to insist that it's not required.

The reason I'm asking is because I'm currently playing through Control 2 with path tracing and I've always kept my card with a 80% PL but I'm seeing temps reach up to 75c core and 95c hotspot at around 370w. The near 20c delta is concerning. When watching 4090FE launch reviews, I'm seeing those cards stay below 70c core with ~10c delta with hotspot at 420w+

Given the current GPU climate, I would like to keep this card going for as long as possible. I'd like to avoid opening the card up if it's not required, but if others have done it and if it led to reduced temps then it may be worth it.

Anyone else repaste an FE 4090?
