The pain of loving someone and still having to let them go(F27)

Relationships

I lost my person. We broke up, and it hurts so much.
I was so deeply in love with him. My day used to feel incomplete if I didn’t tell him all the tiny, insignificant details of my day. Now I have all these little things happening and no one to tell them to. The silence feels so strange. I feel so lonely.
I miss us. I miss our nonsense conversations, our stupid jokes, our random talks that meant absolutely nothing but somehow meant everything to me.
He was genuinely the best guy I’ve ever met. Such a gem of a person — cute, caring, playful, charming. He was my little sunshine. Somehow, he made life feel easier and more breathable just by being there.
We came from completely different professions, but he always understood me. He supported me, listened to me, and stood by me every single day.
And the hardest part is that I still love him.
There’s something incredibly painful about loving someone so deeply and still having to let them go. Knowing that someone can mean the world to you, yet you have to accept that they’re no longer going to be a part of your everyday life.
How do you just stop sharing your life with the person you used to tell everything to?
I miss his presence. I miss his voice. I miss his silly little messages. I miss having my person. I miss knowing that at the end of the day, I had someone to tell all my tiny little stories to.
I know that sometimes loving someone also means letting them go. But knowing that doesn’t make it hurt any less.
I don’t hate him. I don’t regret loving him. If anything, I’m grateful that I got to experience a love that felt this deep.
I just wish my heart understood what my mind already knows.
