Cycling with my mom on a tandem was an idea I had while feeling lonely in the middle of the Saudi Arabian desert, making me realise that the most important people in my life are my parents.

They watched me grow up, and now I’m watching them grow older.

Of course, it is hard for them to see me leave, but fortunately, I still have time. And I can also share with them something that has become such a big part of my life: my passion for travelling and adventure.

So I took my mom on a tandem, and we cycled the “Blue Way”, following rivers and canals from the north of France all the way to the Mediterranean Sea in the south.

1,500 km of mother-and-son adventure, crossing crop fields, vineyards, pre-Alps mountains, and finally reaching the sea.

Along the way, we rediscovered one of the most beautiful countries on Earth.

No big budget. No fancy hotels. No crazy long flights.

Just a tandem, some camping gear, and two people sharing an adventure.

This trip was an ode to life, and a way to forever keep these special moments between a mother and her son.

More than just a trip, it was my way of saying thank you for everything she has given me. For all the opportunities she opened up for me by raising me the way she did.

I can never say it enough: thank you, Mom.

I surely don’t say it often enough, but I love you, Mom.

Do what you love. Do it with what you have.
But do it while you still can.

I cycled across France on a tandem with my mom ❤️
