Enemy encounters. Yay or nay?

Curious what everyone else is thinking about enemy encounters in this new instalment.

Please no spoilers. Please.

I'm still in the beginning and have only encountered one enemy, but it's killed me about 5 times. Could I get killed less from it? Yes, but it's so boring trying to sneak around it. I want to continue the story but I have this thing running around in the way with unpredictable patterns, and I've seen turtles run faster than Sam. Tried killing it once but it's hopeless. The plank didn't really do anything to it.

Clear nay from me. Was really happy with the game until I found out what enemy encounters will be like. First probable pre-order DNF since RE6. What do you think?
