What's your opinion of the efficacy of sativa and indica labels?

I'm under the impression that these are just really marketing terms. By now everything is a hybrid. There's also no definitive scientific test to see if a strain is indica or sativa. Weed is labeled according to the look of their leaves. Someone looks at it and says indica or sativa. Strains are traditionally categorized as indica or sativa based on their physical appearance, growth patterns, and geographic origins. Correct me if I'm wrong but it's the terpenes that determine the type of high. Terpenes can be tested for and are a better indicator of what type of high you'll have.
