New favorite activity

Hi everyone! New here to the extreme horror community and it's been a great experience getting into all of these books and reading people's posts. I was always a huge fan of Garth Ennis who always had elements of the genre in his comics (and obviously he eventually went full out with Crossed) and good creepypastas so I'm not surprised I ended up taking the full plunge

Lately, I've really been loving listening to an extreme horror novel or novella while playing video games. I was just on an 8 hour flight that felt like a one hour flight with Slaughterhouse Moan from Audible in my ear and Well Dweller on my gaming handheld PC.

It's strange how relaxing it is when you'd think it be the exact opposite. But I've also listened to my fair share of metal while doing laundry. I find it relaxing and engaging having such an intense experience on a sensory level, while in a fairly calm environment.

Curious if anyone else does this and your preferred method of engaging with the genre.
