How much can you actually tell from an import compliance plate?

A customer asked me about a Delica compliance plate this week, because it shows the model details and compliance date but nothing about the auction grade or any repairs done before it landed. I realised I’ve never really thought about what buyers expect the plate to prove beyond the car being approved here. What do you normally look for on one?
