Ready to cycle again, where to begin after fish loss?

Took about 4 years off the hobby after the rather upsetting circumstances around the passing of our beloved, finned friend (RIP Virginia, hope you’re in the big aquarium in the heavens enjoying the bubbles🪽🐠 🕯️). Finally feel ready to reintegrate the hobby back into daily practice. Got one of my tanks back out, found a good spot to set up. But feeling - not just overwhelmed with the cycling process - but also the emotional side. Where to start? Should I even start? Might even just begin with a small shrimp tank first, and then start up a second tank for fish around the new year.
