Help me understand the point (spoilers ep 1-3)

Help me understand the point of bringing people back from the dead only to what? Kill them in ritual? I don’t understand people so they resurrected the black Dahlia so they can kill her in a ritual or something? I do not understand. What is even the point? If we can just resurrect people and then kill them again is there any meaning they can just resurrect anyone and kill them. It doesn’t matter.
