I’m in Charlotte and will be moving to Boston. I do worry that

Although Boston is walkable and bikeable, I wonder if I will enjoy biking there more than I do in the outskirts of Charlotte because, although it has one of the lowest scores for biking and walking, I do find that I enjoy being on the sidewalk with NO ONE ON IT. it’s like my own personal dedicated separated bike lane. That’s cause no one walks here, neither bikes, I’m usually the only one.

Yeah, I can only get to work and one park and one Harris teeter and a few coffee shops but I feel content. And I feel peace as I ride.

Will I miss this?

Is there somewhere BETTER than this Bible Belt state that will give me a suburb with more to do but with being able to ride on the sidewalk? I definitely prefer the sidewalk to the painted bike lanes with chaotic belligerent drivers of Boston.

I need to solve this before I make my final decision.

I just want to feel peace and calm while I ride rather than fearing for my life.
