Lake MX239 Gravel Wide

I just bought a pair of these and they have lots of breathing room for my wide feet, but I feel the lower boa knob on my bigger foot pressing into the top of my foot even with the tongue correctly in place. Has anyone else felt this - I understand there’s a break-in period but if this is going to be an ongoing issue I don’t want to bother with the break in vs paying a $15 restock and trying again with something else they sell. It’s a really nice shoe and I had really hoped it would be just right...
