AN ODE TO SCHNAUZERS
A frame of silver, charcoal, or snow,
Two bushy brows that dance to and fro.
They tilt when you speak, as if they understand,
The wisest companion in all of the land.
Below shines a beard, so proud and so grand,
A distinguished mustache, beautifully planned.
It dips in the water, it sweeps up the floor,
And waits by the window, or greets at the door.
Those expressive eyes and that whiskered face,
Bring warmth to the home and a gentle embrace.
A scholar, a giant-sized friend,
With a beard and a brow, and love without end.
