AVR and speakers vs JBL 1300x MK2

Ok so just bought an AVR and speakers, mostly refurb, to set up my basement with projector. I have a denon x1700h with Elac 6.2s and a unifi center. I’ll add more Elacs for surround later. And an RSL 10e sub.
My plan was to set up a dedicated theater space in my basement that’s open, and just have a tv upstairs above the fireplace, like a tcl picture frame one, with small soundbar.

I’m wondering if I should have just spent the same money on a JBL 1300 for the living room and forgo the basement completely.

I know the AVR and speaks are superior, and not fair to compare to a soundbar. But I’ve never owned a $1300 soundbar lol

Does anyone know if this would be “good enough” for most? I’m not an audiophile I just enjoy good movies
