[Feedback] Hunter weaving/swing timers
Hello, some of you might have seen my last post while I was testing, but this contained a bunch of false info and I have removed it. This is what is going on with hunter swing timers.
In classic, hunter melee and ranged swing timers were completely separate, allowing you to weave melee/ranged strikes seamlessly as long as you have the target(s) positioned well.
In forever, after you perform a melee strike, you cannot do a ranged shot for 1s, regardless of the current cooldown on your ranged swing timer. Additionally, the auto shot windup will count as EXTRA time on top of your normal swing timer when your last attack was melee. (if you are just shooting ranged attacks normally, the windup is part of your swing timer)
When playing optimally with this mechanic: This means that you only get the delay of the swing windup extra if you time it perfectly. Meaning: you performed melee hit and swapped back to attacking ranged target while having more than 1s on your ranged swing timer.
This is my conclusion after quite some testing now, but feel free to add to it/correct me if people find any other description of what is going on. I tested with a 2.3s gun and a 3.4s 2h sword.
**I mainly want to know if this is intented or an oversight.**
However, I must say that I personally do not like this change, it does not completely remove weaving (very slow ranged weapons will be least impacted) but just makes it more awkward, more tryhard and slightly less effective if done perfectly, most noticeably on 2 targets (target swap macro helps a lot), which is not the weaving most people have issues with (I feel like the weave-hater crowd dislike weaving on 1 boss).
