Read this one properly.

This is probably the last message I’ll post before the exam, so I wanted to leave everyone with something useful.

Over the past few months, I have put together a completely free set of resources because I wanted students across the UK to have a genuine opportunity to work towards a 9.0 without having to pay for expensive preparation.

The only thing I’ve ever asked is that you actually use what’s available.

If you've been consistently doing papers, reviewing your mistakes, and actively working on your weaknesses, you're already doing the right things.

Now, don't throw that away by burning yourself out in the final few weeks.

At this point, your preparation should become increasingly focused on **timed papers, proper review and fixing the weaknesses those papers expose.**

And if you haven't been as consistent as you wanted to be, that's fine.

You haven't missed your chance.

You've just missed some of it.

A few weeks of genuinely focused preparation can still make a massive difference. I've seen people improve by several points in a relatively short period of time.

What won't help is spending another week telling yourself you'll start tomorrow.

That's probably the biggest decision left to make.

# If you're on a gap year

You made the decision to take a year for a reason.

You chose to delay university while people around you carried on with their lives.

Whatever that reason was, go and find it again.

Right now, that motivation is probably worth more than any technique or resource I could give you.

I don't want anyone taking the exam, going through the entire process again next year, and realising they never gave this attempt everything they had.

**Finish it this time.**

# If this is your first time sitting it

Take the experiences of previous candidates seriously.

Every year, people walk out of the TMUA who are mathematically capable of achieving a very high score but don't get the result they expected.

The exam isn't simply a test of who knows the most maths.

It rewards being able to **think quickly and accurately under pressure**, particularly when a question is designed to tempt you into taking a long or inefficient approach.

That ability has to be trained deliberately.

Being good at maths gets you into the room.

**Your preparation determines what happens once you're there.**

# The 9.0 Manual

Anyway.

I have made something for you.

**The 9.0 Manual.**

I'll be completely straight with you: this isn't AI-generated filler, and it isn't a collection of generic tips you could find in five minutes on Reddit.

Every worked example was checked by hand.

Every drill has a verified answer.

# Book One

Book One is about how to work towards a 9.0 from wherever you are right now - whether that's a 4.0 or an 8.2.

It covers:

* Building an effective preparation system
* Timing
* Elimination
* Question recognition
* Knowing when to move on
* Paper strategy
* Most importantly, **how to properly analyse your mistakes**

“Silly mistake” isn't an explanation.

If you can't identify **why** you made the mistake, you can't reliably stop yourself from making it again.

# Book Two

Book Two is the content library.

It covers the techniques the TMUA actually uses, including:

* The clue in the question that tells you to use the technique
* Why the technique works
* How long it should take
* Where it can go wrong
* Drills designed to make recognition automatic

Every chapter progresses through three levels:

**A** \- **Recognition**

Learn to spot the technique.

**B - Exam Standard**

Apply it at genuine TMUA difficulty.

**C - 8 → 9 Level**

Push the technique further, because this is where the difference between a very strong score and an exceptional one can appear.

# How to use it with only a few weeks left

**Do NOT read 154 pages from front to back and call that revision.**

That's procrastination disguised as productivity.

Read **Book One** once, properly, in as few sittings as you can manage.

Build your preparation around it.

Then stop reading.

**Start doing papers.**

Timed.

After every paper:

1. Mark it properly.
2. Record every wrong answer.
3. Record questions you guessed.
4. Record questions where you were too slow.
5. Identify the actual reason you lost the mark.
6. Find the relevant topic in **Book Two**.
7. Read the relevant section.
8. Do the drills.
9. Sit another paper.

Then repeat.

At this point, **your papers are your revision.**

That's about it from me.

One last thing.

If you're behind and panicking, **don't go quiet.**

Ask questions.

There are students all over the UK preparing for this exam right now, many of whom have already made the mistakes you're worried about making.

Nobody benefits from struggling silently when someone else might be able to explain the problem in five minutes.

You still have time.

**Use it.**

In a few weeks, this will be over.

The score will be whatever it is. That part was never completely in your hands.

What *is* in your hands is whether you walk into that exam knowing that you genuinely gave yourself the best preparation you could.

**That's the actual bar.**

Not the 9.0.

That's just the title of the document.

You've got the papers.

You've got the manual.

You've got the time.

And you've got a whole community of people preparing alongside you.

**Go and earn it.**

See you all on the other side.

**Good luck.**

**Sincerely,**
