This entire comment is tailor made to piss me off specifically and I should probably ignore it with how stupid it is but whatever. The point that my experiences as a trans person with CAIS are going to be different isn’t even wrong exactly, it’s just caked in so much condescension and contempt and stupid wrong shit and tries to use that to put us on a hierarchy of transness and make stupid and shitty assumptions about us.

“Fundamentally not trans in the same way I am” shut the fuck up. Yes my experience is fundamentally different from yours because you have the privilege of HRT that I don’t (I say privilege not because it shouldn’t be a right or whatever but because it is a way to manage dysphoria that most people should be able to have but I never will) but to imply I’m not trans like you, that my experience is a lesser form of of your real trans experience is realll classy. You could’ve been me. You could’ve been fucked over by one single little base pair in your genetic code. But you weren’t, and the least you could do is not be a dick about it.

“Their brains run on an estrogen system and it changes how they think” Biological essentialism is stupid go fuck yourself. “They’re going to go insane and get brain damaged” (okay I only paraphrased a bit here but addressing this whole paragraph because it particularly sucks) this whole thing is condescending as fuck. Write us off as crazy and brain damaged, which is incredibly convenient for writing us and everything we have to say off. Sure, we’re probably more likely to have fucked up mental health because this is not a great way to have to live. You know what would help make us not as fucked up? Not talking about us like this. And you do realize we can transition, right? Yes we can’t get on HRT, yes a lot of aspects of my dysphoria are impossible to fix without it, but we’re not doomed to refuse to acknowledge our own identities forever. I’m not fucking repressing my identity I’m just mostly closeted and have my options limited.

Next paragraph, again you do realize we can transition and try to pass, despite it being exponentially harder and sometimes impossible for us? And that we can and do get clocked as trans? Even when pretending to be a cis woman I’ve been asked my pronouns in a targeted way, I’ve had people struggle to gender me, I’ve been asked by little kids if I’m a boy or a girl, I’ve been called buddy in public by strangers in the way you know they see you as a 13 year old boy. One of my best friends figured out I was trans when I was still pretending to be a woman to his face. I don’t know why, but people can often tell. And every single one of those struggles listed minus maybe the beard one (though we can have other “conflicting” traits, we can get top and bottom surgery) can be experienced by a trans man with CAIS. Even if we don’t pass, do you really fucking think it’s safer to be a ‘transgender who thinks they’re a man but is really bad at it’ in public than someone passing as a cis man?

If you’re soooo similar to “people who take HRT for fun” go fuck off with them and leave other trans people alone then. You sound like you think you’re some sort of temporarily embarrassed cis person, nothing like those of us whose options are repress or Be A Trans Person In Public forever.

(Sorry this is basically just a rant insulting this commenter but I needed to get it out of my system and idk where else I could do that)

Well fuck you too
