How To Make Restored Lands Easy: Exterminate the Volatile Population
Hey everyone! This is a spot I found that allows you to easily farm the Alpha Volatile, as well as dozens of other Volatiles, for as long as your patience allows. You can get a ton of medkits to sell for basically infinite resources from vendors, and they occasionally also drop batteries for your flashlight as well. Apparently UV lights aren't a volatile's biggest weakness. Their biggest weakness is doors with small windows.
Just a heads up: I don't recommend doing this too much, because it completely RUINS the challenge of Restored Lands and makes it unbelievably easy. That said, I know some people have been struggling with this mode, especially on One-Life. This gives you a massive edge early on if you have the patience for it. You can also hit them through the door while in Beast Mode.
Above shows on the map what building you want to go to, the one with the exclamation point. It's in the Farmlands.
Once you're inside the building, there is a door that you can close with small window panes, as shown in the screenshot below. Just a heads up, the door is only openable by climbing through a small vent in a room that's to the left. So open the door ahead of time, start chase, then run inside and close the door. Wait for the chase to build up for a constant stream of 3-4 volatiles.
I killed around 15 of them, getting a total of 30 or so medkits in about 3-5 minutes. I also learned you can in fact kick a volatile to death with your normal kick lol. It takes like, 35-45 kicks though.
