Where do I start?

So I've been growing and its fairly expensive buying the LC and such. Ive made more LC out of what I bought and have been following the same sterile practices, ive used my self made lc 3 or 4 times and so far nothing but success BUT. is there a guide for idiots anybody can point me to? How long before...whatever its called where the myc just gives up? Also an agar guide?
