Dumb AI Defense
I saw this post from an AI-defender, stating that this is the equivalent to "pick up a pencil":

Yeah, that's really dumb logic.
First of all, the "pick up a pencil" case is the fact that people are ABLE to pick up a pencil and attempt to draw... they just don't want to. And they'd rather rely on technology to do the work FOR them. They don't wanna put in the effort themselves.
The case shown in the Reddit post with Po handing a kid in a wheelchair some shoes is NOT the same, because it is very likely that the kid is UNABLE to walk. He's not lazy; he's not using a wheelchair to make it easy to get around; he likely has a medical condition that makes him unable to walk. He doesn't have much of a choice as he is unable to use his legs.
So this is NOT the equivalent of "pick up a pencil".
People with perfectly functioning arms CAN pick up a pencil and at least try to draw. At least they put in the effort.
Wheelchairs are medical equipment created to help those that are UNABLE to walk. They don't have much of a choice.
Even those that CAN use their feet likely can't use them for long, so they need the wheelchair to get around for long distances. You think they DON'T wanna walk? They probably do, but are unable to; some are unable to walk for long distances without falling over.
So yeah, whoever thinks this is the prefect equivalent of "pick up a pencil", your logic isn't very valid in this case.
