Holy synonyms, batman...
An odd thing just happened. I've been playing the GTA definitive trilogy on PS4 and my console is in Russian. So the game defaults to Russian menus and I decided to put Russian subtitles on, just for the hell of it.
Playing a mission, character in English says:
We gonna fight like men! (сражаться)
They fight like women! (воюют)
Fight like men with big cajones! (деритесь)
Fight, fight, fight. But in the Russian subtitles they used a different word for 'fight' everytime. It's honestly more funny than anything, but also kind of frustrating. Why, goddamit?! 😅
I've got no other evidence right now to support this claim, but I feel like Russian has a shit load of synonyms compared to English.
Великий и могучий русский язык...
