heaven?

imagine there was a needle that could completely remove every negative emotion you have, no sadness, no grief, no anger, no loneliness, no pain. You would just be happy all the time, constantly smiling, laughing, and you would never have to experience anything bad again.

If uve never experienced sadness, how would you even know what happiness feels like? If you never lose anyone, never struggle, and never feel pain, wouldn't happiness eventually just become your normal state rather than something you actually appreciate?

its kind of like asking whether heaven would still feel like heaven if there was nothing else to compare it to. If you're happy every single second of your life, does happiness still have the same value, or does it js become your default state?

maybe part of what makes happiness meaningful is the fact that we've experienced the opposite. You appreciate being happy because you've been sad before. You appreciate peace because you've experienced conflict. You appreciate good moments because you know that bad moments exist.

id be more accepting of the idea of heaven if i was still able to feel sadness for my family or friends that ended up in hell if that makes sense
